Best of luck to the Castlebar Mitchels Senior Team this weekend in their All-Ireland Club semi-final against Crosmaglen Rangers. Seanie wore his custom made Mitchels/Minion hat into school the other day.

Travel Through the Ages at the Country Life Museum

Today we went to Turlough house to take part in a history workshop entitled Travel Through the Ages. We learned about emigration and immigration and we also learned about why migrated to other countries in the past.

Yummy Pancakes

On Pancake Tuesday we learned how to make pancakes in class and we had lots of fun tasting them!!

Safer Internet Day 2016

Tuesday 9th February is Safer Internet Day. We have been working on some Internet Safety Projects in class and at home. There are lots of Internet Safety links on our School Website's Internet Safety Blog  www.internetsafetystpats.blogspot.ie . There are also some links on the Safer Internet Day site.

Sergeant Naomi de Ris

On Thursday we went to the Library where we met Sergeant Naomi de Ris of Castlebar Garda Station. Naomi very kindly took time to chat with us about a day in the life of a Garda. She spoke to us about the wide and varied duties of An Garda Síochána (Guardians of the Peace) and she showed us the various pieces of equipment she carries with her. A big thank you for  Sergeant Naomi for taking the time to teach us about the Gardaí and to Castlebar County Library for advertising the event.
